Saturday morning, we drove to Balboa Park. We walked around and admired all of the buildings and gardens.
In front of the Bea Evenson Fountain with the Natural History Museum behind us.
In the cactus garden.
What a place to hide!
Megan loved smelling the flowers.
Megan with the flamingo flowers.
Museum of Man with the California Tower.
A bigger shot of the people in the above photo.
The kids loved playing on the mosaic alligator. All three of them climbed all the way over it.
We walked a little in Palm Canyon.
We ate lunch at the Japanese Tea Pavilion.
Sarah thought her teriyaki rice bowl was super yummy. In fact, she said that given a choice between two rice bowls and two bags of candy, she'd choose the rice bowls. (And that's saying something!)
We drove to the Firehouse Museum, but it wasn't open, so we drove over Coronado Bridge onto Coronado Island.
Since the Firehouse Museum was closed, U took Matthew to the fire station right by our condo. Matthew so excited to tell us all about it when he got back!
We walked down to the beach to play for awhile.
U, with a little help from Matthew, made a sand castle.
The girls enjoyed looking for shells.
Matthew became a racing car, and started a fad...
Matthew and U made a fire truck. Notice the boker bumpers on the firetruck and the people standing in front of it. They are Fireman Sam, Station Office Steele and Station Officer Penny. Matthew was very concerned that his firetruck would be going away when the tide came in.
Another beautiful sunset.
