Spring Fling Part 1

On Fri"yay" (Thank you Mrs. Tolonen!) we had the annual Spring Fling fundraiser at the kids' school.  It is always fun to go and see friends and play at the carnival booths.  Me and U both volunteered to help out at different booths and there was an abundance of candy and cheap toys to be had.

One of the coolest things were these giant inflatable bubbles that the kids enjoyed running in.  They were all able to be in at the same time.

Matthew's teacher Mrs. Tolonen volunteered to be in the pie throwing booth.  Matthew managed to hit her cheek.

Megan got her right in the face.

Matthew was congratulated by the person running this booth on playing by the rules and only blowing his boat.  Most kids would push it with their straw.

Sarah collected a lot of this candy before the night was done.

All City Swim Meet

Sarah had her final swim meet of the year. She did well overall. She had a bit of a scary experience on the butterfly, though--she got a mouthful of water and stopped swimming. We were a bit worried as we couldn't tell why she wasn't swimming. It was really close to the end of the race and was very unexpected. She was able to overcome her concerns, though, and swim the IM after.

Times:
Backstroke: 50.17 sec (7th of 30)
Buitterfly: 54.79 sec (10th of 28)
IM: 1 min 52.24 sec (10th of 28)

This day ended up being a day full of swimming--she was at the pool by 6 am for her swim meet, had a swim party for activity days right after the meet and then had a swim party that evening!

Spring freeze

You know how the weather can suddenly turn brisk in spring right? Well the kids decided they were cold in the back yard. (It was approximately 75 degrees out. Freezing by Arizona kids' estimation.)
