Visiting Cedar City

We headed to Cedar City to stay with grandma and grandpa. Aunt Cheryl-Lynn and Liz came as well. Ben was going to come but did not because he was sick. Speaking of being sick, Me got sick on the trip and by the time we were in Cedar City, she ended up sounding like a frog. Funsies!

We enjoyed putting puzzles together, watching basketball games and shows (the kids watched Seeking Persephone with grandpa), playing games (Grandpa was an actual troublemaker in One Night Ultimate Werewolf, making trouble by opening his eyes with the werewolves even though he was the troublemaker), playing monster, going on walks and a hike. We had a nice visit!

Matthew is slightly taller than Cheryl-Lynn

Me and CL with the glow-in-the-dark fairy puzzle we put together.

There were 22 fairies in the puzzle, some hidden. It was cool to see it glow in the dark.

We saw some pretty flowers when we walked around the temple. I miss the perennial flowers we used to have in Colorado.

Liz, Megan and Matthew playing Mousetrap.

Grandpa, Megan, Liz and Matthew playing pickleball.

Cheryl-Lynn made elderberry syrup for us all to drink. It must have helped because nobody else got sick. One night, she accidentally pulled out the beet juice. It did not taste the same at all! Can you tell which is which?

Another puzzle we put together.

We went to see Lamb of God which was really nice!

Visiting Mesquite

Sunday morning, we left Flagstaff to drive to Mesquite to visit Grandmo and Grandpo and Uncle Justin. We enjoyed a few days relaxing at their house, swimming in the warm pool (up to 87 degrees!), riding the ebikes, watching movies (including Seeking Persephone) and playing lots and lots of games. We went to see Hoppers in the movie theater. We brought Grandmo's and Grandpo's birthday gifts and enjoyed watching them open them.

Puzzle we got Grandmo for her birthday.

Megan and Matthew with their St. Patrick's Day find.

Beautiful flowers on cactus. They open in the morning and then close back up.

Me and Matthew on an ebike ride. Matthew really enjoyed the ebikes and went on rides with Me, Grandpo and Justin. He even went by himself!

Justin, Megan and Matthew swimming in the pool.

Matthew. He loved diving for rings, sticks, etc.

We enjoyed playing Telestrations. Here are a couple of Megan's drawings.

California Adventure: Me with Her Family

Thursday morning, Me headed to the gate early. Security was already open and so she walked right up to the gates. She chatted with a lady from Vernal who was there with her daughter and niece for the Disney races happening over the weekend. (We met a lot of people there for the races during the day.)

Me at the gate.

We headed towards Guardians of the Galaxy for rope drop. We discovered it is best to be farther left at rope drop as they consolidate to a single file line as we head towards the ride.

Oh no!

Double oh no! Good thing Grandma was there to get us out. Ha ha!

Waiting for the preshow.

Me, Cheryl-Lynn, Mom and Dad before the ride.

Ride photo. We are in the back left. I actually quite enjoyed the ride. It helped that I knew the characters. Our ride was "Hit me with your best shot."

We went on Soarin' Over the World. Everybody loved that ride! Then we went on Toy Story Midway Mania.

CL, Me, Mom and Dad on Webslingers which mom liked! (She was iffy on some of the other rides as she didn't feel great after riding.)

Our score.

We went on Monsters, Inc. using the buddy pass (basically like a single rider except two people can go together).

We got some PhotoPass photos on Buena Vista Street. Do you see Mickey photobombing in the second and third pictures? (It was an intentional move on his part.)

Mom, Dad and Me went on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree which mom and dad both liked. (I love that ride! So many happy memories plus it is just so fun to listen to Mater.) With three adults in the car, there wasn't much room to slide on the bench as we went around the turns. Cheryl-Lynn had heard Radiator Springs Racers was coming up so she went to see what was happening and ended up being one of the first people on that ride. After Maters, the rest of us joined her at RSR for another amazing ride. We got a paint job (Ramone's side) and won our race!

We got some PhotoPass Photos in CarsLand.

Then we got some pictures at the CarsLand sign including a few with Stanley.

We went in a stationary car on the Pixar Pal-A-Round. We saw the Operation: Playtime! show where we learned about FUN (Fun uninhibited nonsense) and learned how to be toys from the Green Army Men. Then we took an oath to be faithful toys.

Cheryl-Lynn and Me went on the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and then we all went on Jumping Jellyfish.

Watching the Lunar New Year Parade.

We went on The Little Mermaid ride (where dad got a short nap) before going to Mater's together.

Mom and Me on Mater's

Dad and CL on Mater's

We all went on Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters.
Me and Dad

We went on Webslingers again. We asked a CM about the single rider line and she let us into the lightning lane so we were able to go together which was amazing! Our score improved.

At this point, we split into groups with Mom and Dad wanting to take things a little bit more slowly while Cheryl-Lynn and Me wanted to use their lightning lanes.

Cheryl-Lynn, Ant Man and Me

The ant amusement park they found when Disneyland was built. Ant Man explained all about it to us and even recorded a video for the kids to see.

We went to see Turtle Talk with Crush. It was so funny!

We went on Goofy's Sky School and then Little Mermaid.

Next up was Toy Story. Pretty sure Me had the lower score.

Cheryl-Lynn and Me got some photos in Avengers Campus.

Helping Spiderman!

With Wasp, Ant Man and his daughter Cassie

We rode Webslingers.

Next up was Guardians of the Galaxy. Our CM was so funny, encouraging us to "make better choices" in our lives and such. We again got "Hit me with your best shot."
CL and Me in the back left corner.

Cheryl-Lynn and Me got a few PhotoPass pictures in Hollywood Land.

Look who showed up!

We then went on Soarin' Over the World where we waited to be able to sit in the top center of the ride. I love that ride so much!

We joined back up with Mom and Dad and ate dinner.

CL and Me

Since we used single rider at Radiator Springs Racers, we were split up although mom and dad got to be in the same car. They raced CL's car and mom and dad's car won.

We got some PhotoPass photos in CarsLand with the neon lights on.

CL and Me

Dad and CL went on Toy Story a couple of times. Dad really likes the ride as does CL!

Mom and Me tried to go on the stationary car on the Pixal Pal-A-Round but they had already closed it for World of Color. We headed to Little Mermaid instead.

Mom and Me on Maters.

Mom with one of the tractors.

Mom and Me on the carousel. Mom was really wanting to go on it since that had been in her plan.

Mom having fun sticking her legs out.

We enjoyed World of Color and even got to see the Lunar New Year preshow.

Mom and Dad with an elder they knew from their mission in India plus his family. They live in Ogden now.

It was another fabulous day. We got great return times on our Lightning Lanes in the afternoon. We had our Guardian's one set for awhile (and they were out so we couldn't change the time anymore) and then lined up Toy Story, Webslingers and Soarin' to fit around it. (Some of this was done using the refresh trick.) We got 3 bonus sets of Lightning Lane multipasses from Goofy being down which we used with mom and dad in the evening which was nice. It was definitely harder to get multipasses in California Adventure versus Disneyland.

Cheryl-Lynn had a step count of 23,000. Me rode 24 rides, saw 4 shows and got PhotoPass Photos at 5 locations (including CarsLand during the day and at night). It was definitely a great day!
