Quoteable Quotes

I love the things kids do and say. Here are a few of the memorable happenings from the last month.

Megan (quoting "Twas the Night Before Christmas"): Mama in her kerchief was watching my cat.

Matthew: You guys tell on me 26/7.

Megan's fuzzy creature to Matthew while playing a game: Why do you cheat?
Matthew: Because we are only eight and this game is for 43 year olds and up.
(Editor's note: this was a new game we played and when it wasn't going well, Me jokingly said it was for 43+, since she was clearly too young to play the game.)

Megan: We're going to have a new year. It's like we are going to have a brand new sheet.

Mom on New Years Eve: You guys want to stay up until midnight? You are crazy!
Megan: I'm eight! I can swallow a pill!
(She can also stay up until midnight, something mom didn't do.)

On the way to the park, Megan fell down. Mom asked her, "Megan, are you okay?"
Megan replied, "Yes, that's why it is a good thing I always bring my tongue with me." And then she proceeded to lick her owie.

At a doctor's appointment for Megan, they were having a hard time getting her blood pressure. They told her to relax but had to try a few times before getting a valid measurement. After the nurse left, Megan informed Me that she'd been playing a game with the blood pressure cuff by flexing her muscle when the cuff tightened. Yeah, that might explain why they had a hard time getting a good measurement....

Isms

A collection of sayings from the children:

"If you do that, I'm going to call the police and they'll take you to jail." - Matthew (said about anything he doesn't like)

"I'm going to kill you all! Not literally, awesomely!" (While playing a game) - Sarah

Froke: past tense of freak e.g. "I really froke out!" - Megan

"I know why you got new glasses, mom. I put on your old ones and everything is blurry." - Matthew

"I speak Indian because there is a girl in my class who is Indian and I understand her." - Megan

"White shirts are the best because you can see all the dirty spots." - Matthew

"I don't like the carrot of the banana." (The bottom tip of the banana) - Megan and Matthew

Sarah: "I do everything you tell me to in this game and I still lose!"
U: "Buy a forest."
Sarah: "No. I don't like trees."

Stories from Wynter
Wynter is a kindergartner in Matthew's class who is friends with both Megan and Matthew.  She has an amazing life:
- last weekend, she took an around the world trip
- she is going to Tokyo over fall break
- her mom is going to work at the school
- her mom is coming to recess {parents aren't allowed on the playground during recess}
- her parents are vampires and are trying to kill her and she has to hide from them
- her mom is going to kill her dog and eat it

M&M know that this is all true.  They asked her and she assured them it is.
