Gorgeous sunsets!

We made Grinch head kabobs courtesy of the Relief Society President.

U has been bringing exotic fruit home from work. This is a fruit salad he made with dragon fruit, persimmons, start fruit, kiwi, mango and apple. Yum!

Megan and Matthew were super excited to help us get our Christmas cards done. It sure is nice to have helpers!

Sarah trying to get John Henry to jump up to her finger. He will do it when he's trying to get food. Tiny is on the side of her tank so we can see both fish.

The Relief Society President brought over another activity for the kids. This one was building snowmen. Here are their creations:

Playing Ticket to Ride First Journeys. Megan and Matthew both really enjoy playing it.

Sarah got curlers for Christmas. This is what her hair looked like the morning after we put them in her hair, spiral-style. I thought it looked nice. She thought it was a bit too curly.

Here it is later in the day after she'd had it pulled back in a ponytail for a bit.

Watching the ball drop on New Year's Eve. Eastern Time, of course. Those of us with names that begin with M then went to bed while the other two played a game until it was New Years here, too.

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

Grandma and Grandpa O came for a visit over Matthew's birthday. We enjoyed having them come visit. We went to see "Sing." Matthew and Megan enjoyed playing with the Batman Lego movie ad.

Grandpa treated everyone to Kokomos afterwards.

We took a few trips to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Matthew's 6th Birthday

Matthew turned six! He's been excited about his birthday coming for a long time. Grandma and Grandpa came which was extra fun.

Matthew with his gifts. He received Paw Patrol characters. Legos, Playmobil firetruck, a little firetruck and Elephant and Piggy books plus some money to buy something he chooses.

He requested waffles for dinner. Yum!

He wanted cinnamon rolls for dessert.

Matthew received a candy cane from one of his friends. They told him it would mold if he didn't eat it by breakfast. We assured him this would not happen but he wanted to make sure by putting it in the fridge. After that, all of Matthew's candy canes went in the fridge. This is part of the candy cane from his stocking.

Zoo on Matthew's birthday with Grandma and Grandpa

We went to the zoo on Matthew's birthday. It was fun to go with Grandma and Grandpa and to see the Lego exhibits one more time. We focused on the African trail as we had only seen those Lego exhibits from the safari train.

The cheetahs were quite active. All three of them were moving about their enclosure. My favorite part is when we rode by the cheetahs while on the safari train, two of the cheetahs ran down towards the train like they were stalking us. The driver said that they often do that. Maybe because it's the fastest moving thing around.
