Other July Happenings

We were gone for the first half of July. When we got home, it was time to get ready for school to start on July 17th (so early!). Overall, the adjustment back to school has gone pretty well. Megan and Matthew are happy to have gotten both of their requested electives (band and robotics). On the weekends, we enjoyed beating an escape room, talking to an astronaut on the International Space Station and visiting the Ocean Explorer exhibit at the Science Center, visiting Sarah, Lionheart and Champion and eating the Thai Yum Box.

Matthew bringing back the robotics drive train that he worked on over the summer.

We found a baby in an egg.

Me, Matthew, U and Megan beat the clock tower escape room.

Artemis likes sleeping under the desk while Me works at the computer.

U enjoyed putting together his LEGOs.

Matthew enjoyed going to the FlowRider for a YM activity. First, he rode on his belly a number of times.

Then he tried standing up.

Visiting Sarah and family

We were able to go visit Sarah, Champion and Lionheart. We were thankful to be able to see them. Lionheart is a cute baby and we enjoyed our time with him. Sarah is trying really hard to be a good mom.

Sisters!

Matthew is so excited to be an uncle and was totally enamored with Lionheart.

Megan was happy to get to hold Lionheart.

Cedar City Day 5, 6 & 7: Temple, Family Pictures, Fire

Friday morning, a bunch of us went to the temple. It was a great experience.

Aaron, Jon, Kiley and Brian went golfing.

We finished the puzzle!

In the afternoon, we went to watch Fiddler on the Roof. It was very enjoyable!

In the evening, we took family pictures.
Lots of wandering around as we set up for pictures.

Lovely Cheryl-Lynn!

After pictures, we sat around the commons area and shared ancestor stories.

Back at the house, we sang a lot of karaoke.
Grandpa singing.

Jon singing "American Pie."

Saturday morning we said goodbye to most of Jon's family and Cris' family. Kiley left with Andrew, Kinley and Zach before dinner. It was sad to see them go. During the day, we visited and played Telestrations, Oh Heck!, One Night Ultimate Werewolf and other games. We tried to go to the Greenshow but it was cancelled due to a power outage.

The big news of the day was a fire that started just southeast of Cedar City. We initially saw it when we were walking to the other house for breakfast. We hope they can get it under control quickly.

Sunday morning, we ate breakfast and headed out. The drive home was relatively boring, which is a good thing. Me drove while U read The Inheritance Games.

What a trip! We sure had a lot of adventures!
