Other happenings

Megan found this very interesting looking caterpillar in our yard.
Our van hit a big milestone!

We had our friends the Thomases over for dinner and a game. The game we played was an escape room game where you solved puzzles in order to crack codes and win the game. One of my favorite parts was when Weston, who is 14, looked at the puzzle and said he knew how to do this type of puzzle and quickly figured it out.
Matthew, Brother Thomas, Weston and Megan look at some clues.

What does all this mean?
Me and U looking at clues.
One of the final clues had us using "special objects" to figure out a code in the box.

After the Thomases left, the kids had a sugar-inspired pillow fight.

U and Megan went to the Daddy Daughter Dance at school.

Matthew and Me went on a date as well. (Sarah was babysitting.)

Crazy pose!

A fun candle we received as a Thank You from the Thomases for our game night. (The escape room game had an Egyptian-based theme.)

Matthew and Megan cleaning the garage door--it was so dirty and they did a great job!

We went to the Intel Christmas celebration where we ate dinner and the kids played some games.
Sarah shows off her candy cane.

Matthew jumped clear across the inflatable balls on his first try! He did this quite a few times.

Can I put a bug in your ear?

If someone says that to you, your answer should be an unequivocal "No!"

How do we know that?  Because it happened to Me! (Not me as in myself, Me as in my better half :) )

Me came up and said that it felt like she had a bug in her ear.  I went and got the ottoscope and sure enough, there was a little bug sitting on her eardrum.  we tried placing a blade of grass in her ear to encourage it to climb out but it was sitting in there happy as can be.

We aren't sure what type it was but I thought it looked like a little spider.  the pictures we tried to take didn't turn out.  Eventually, we just had her lie down and hope that the bug would find his way out.  Thankfully he did.

"Mom!  Why did you get a bug in your ear?"

At least she was smiling.
