February 2023

We enjoyed our Austrian Yum Box.

Artemis trying to get whatever is under the stove. She can be very determined!

The YM/YW in the stake had a packing session at Feed My Starving Children. Here are Megan and Matthew with the results.

Robo, Matthew's toothpick creation.

We went to the school district volunteer recognition where Me was recognized as volunteer of the year at the elementary school. Here she is shaking the hands of the school board.

Me with Mr. Narducci, the superintendent. He was quite personable and good at putting her at ease. (It is a bit nerve-wracking to be walking across the stage in front of so many people. The good news is that Me did it successfully and she even made it off the stage safely.)

Mrs. Powell, Clare A and Me: the teacher, student and volunteer recognized from CTA Independence

Megan and Matthew's social studies teacher offered them extra credit if they did certain things and the parents wrote up about what they did. This is what U wrote about Megan's activities. (Me's write up about Matthew's was much more boring...)

Megan loves Artemis!

Tired boy!

Megan and Matthew enjoyed their cupcake club. Here are a few of their creations.

Artemis's best day ever: U was trimming trees and so Artemis was dragging around big sticks to chew. She thought it was great fun!

A Visit from the Adams

Cheryl-Lynn, Ben and Liz came for a visit over President's Day weekend. We were excited to see them and to introduce them to Artemis. They spent Friday at SeaLife Aquarium and Legoland Discover Center since our kids were at school. (Lizzy really thought her cousins should have a staff development day since her school had that.) We played a lot of games, went on walks, sampled a Yum Box, played at the park and had a picnic. The kids really enjoyed playing together.

Our special Valentine's Yum Box scoreboard.

Me, U, Ben, Matthew, Megan and Liz enjoying the yums.

U was happy about the "salty ovals" especially since he was the only one who liked it. Most of the rest of us couldn't even swallow it, it was so salty tasting.

Cheryl-Lynn, Ben, Matthew, U, Megan and Liz preparing for a round of One Night Ultimate Werewolf. We played a lot of that game!

We took forehead shots, which is apparently all the rage with teens.

It was really nice to have the Adams visit and we hope they come again in another 4 years (or less...).
