January has been an interesting month. We thought the kids would be going back to in person learning immediately after break. However, because of the state of COVID in our area and the fact that some people had large parties at New Years, the school board opted to have the kids attend the first 2 weeks virtually. Sarah actually prefers virtual (when everyone is virtual, not when it is just a few quarantined kids) so she was happy with it. Megan and Matthew did fairly well, too. The format worked better than what they had during first quarter.
One of U's Christmas presents was a party box that had lots of food and drink in it. Megan and Matthew wanted to have some of the drinks and were told that the drinks were for a party. So they made a party: there were a couple of games, a maze to drive the remote control robots through, a dance to learn. They provided snacks and asked U to provide drinks which he did. It was a fun time!
Sarah has been driving a lot! It is good for her to get practice. Here are a few memorable moments:
-Me: It's raining. What do you think is different about driving in the rain?
-Sarah: Nothing. Except that I can't see.
Driving one evening:
-Sarah: I can't see the buttons on the steering wheel so it's hard to use the controls.
-Me: Are your lights on?
-Sarah: Um.....
During Matthew's lesson about blessings, Megan remarked, "Heavenly Father gives you things you need. Like coal!"
