The Adams Visit and Kartchner Caverns

The Adams came to visit over President's Day weekend. We enjoyed playing a lot of games, eating at YCs and going bed shopping. Luke and Andrew accompanied Sarah to Randolph on Sunday where they helped its residents attend church. (Apparently, Andrew told the YW President that, on a scale of 1 to 10, it was definitely a 10!) Everyone enjoyed attending the Articles of Faith recognition ice cream party at church (Megan and Matthew memorized all 13 Articles of Faith last year).

On Saturday, we took a trip down to Kartchner Caverns and went on the Rotunda/Throne Room tour. It was cool! We weren't allowed to take pictures in the cave but we did capture a few from the visitor's center.

Examples of the soda straws we saw in the cave. The longest is 21 feet 3 inches long (they usually break off when they are a few feet long).

Devotional

A few weeks ago, we were able to attend a devotional at the State Farm Stadium. President and Sister Oaks and President and Sister Nelson were the speakers. It was an amazing opportunity to hear from some amazing people!

We took this great picture before the devotional.

Running for Rob

Our good friend Rob was killed suddenly last year.  One of his passions was running and he had already registered for the Phoenix Half Marathon.  A bunch of people got together to run either the 10k or the half marathon to support his family.  U and Sarah both ran the 10k and had a great experience.

Sarah finished in ~58 minutes and Uriah finished in 65 minutes.

Waiting for the 10k to start.  It was dark and cold!

Running club

Running club is in full swing again and both Megan and Matthew have enjoyed competing in the races.

Matthew running in the first race.

Megan has broken out of the pack.

"Too busy for a picture dad!"

Megan got 5th for 2nd grade girls in her first race.

When your legs are tired, sometimes you just want a ride.

A rare shot of both kids together from their second race.

Almost to the finish line, Megan really ran hard in her second race.

Matthew also ran hard against some tough competitors.
