Megan and Matthew completed a triathlon the first weekend in April. Matthew had been wanting to participate in one for quite awhile and was excited to finally be doing it. Once we registered Matthew, Megan decided to do it as well. They'd been practicing running and swimming and biking as well as the transitions. We went down to Sierra Vista for them to participate. They were considered 9 year olds since they will be 9 by the end of the year. Their race consisted of a 50m swim, 3.3 mile bike ride and 0.5 mile run. They both finished in under 30 minutes:
Megan time: 29 min 18.0 sec
Matthew time: 29 min 39.7 sec
They were proud of their accomplishment! Matthew would say, "I did a triathlon so I can do that" about other things. He wore his number bib on for the entire day.

After the triathlon, Matthew and Megan played on the playground. They were excited to find a merry-go-round and enjoyed riding it and pushing others on it.
