Matthew is rolling. All over. And back again. He is pretty fast when he wants to be. Some of his favorite places to roll are over to the car seats (he will totally bat them with his arms and legs when he gets there and will flip them over and around) and under the swing. He also rolls around in his bed trying to find his pacifier--he opens his mouth and rolls until he finds it (or until he fusses for some help).
Here he rolled under the swing and is sucking on the strap (can't tell he watches Megan, huh?).
While Matthew rolls most places he wants to go, he has started scooting with a purpose, too (as opposed to before when he'd scoot just because his legs moved). He'll see something he wants in front of him and get his legs up under his body and scoot towards it. Once he figures out how to get his upper body off the ground he will be crawling! He'll also occasionally try to "scoot" when he's on his back. It kind of reminds me of the crab crawl although his arms aren't off the ground. That way doesn't seem to work as well.....and it looks pretty funny!
"Blah blah blah blah blah blah." We hear that a lot at our house. Matthew babbles quite a bit these days and that seems to be his preferred sound. It's pretty funny! He also babbles "dada" and makes sing-y noises a lot. He has figured out how to click his tongue and enjoys showcasing his talent.
Matthew endures the solids we give him. Sometimes he seems to like them ok and other times not so much. His tongue gets in the way of the spoon a lot (and it really does work better to get the food on top of the tongue!). U seems to be able to feed him more successfully than me--must be because U sticks his tongue out. Matthew currently is eating oatmeal, squash, sweet potato and pear juice. What Matthew does like is playing with the spoon we give him. That will often keep him entertained for quite awhile which is great for me since I'm often feeding him and Megan at the same time. Whereas Sarah and Megan both liked really messy trays, he likes getting a thin layer of oatmeal spread evenly across the tray.

Still running. And wiggling. I guess some things never change! It's just so fun to watch him when he gets an intense look on his face as his legs and arms dart all over.
Matthew sits pretty well. He can even fold in half (our little yoga baby!) and then get back up to sitting when he wants to. He will sit for 5 minutes or more and could probably do it longer if he decided he wanted to--he usually comes out of sitting when he wants to roll somewhere.
