China: Interesting signs

We saw many interesting signs while in China. Here are a few we captured:

These 4 are from Dalian at The Mysterious Orient.

From Summer Palace
Hotel outside Summer Palace.

From the Beijing subway

From the streets of Beijing

A few from the Great Wall:

(Slipping is ok as long as you do it carefully....)

Translation of message Emily received from her phone company.

Sticker on car.

From toilet in a hutong in Beijing

From the subway in Beijing. They have projector ads on the walls which change (the orange sign with the man and woman on it in this picture). The "forbid to beam on" is in the front on the clear doors at the station. The combination is quite funny.

A few funny things we didn't capture on film:

On the Xi'an City Wall, we saw a man with a shirt that had an Intel and an HP logo on the front. On the back, it said "Storage Solutions". Probably not what the companies mentioned think of as their primary product....

On the train from Xi'an to Beijing, in the bathroom it said "Value your treasures". (We think there may have been a place to put valuables while in the bathroom. Still, it was pretty funny.)

China: Home!

Sign on the garage door awaiting my arrival home.

Sarah made me this lovely sign.

Home! Yes, I was exhausted. And even though I knew it was Monday night, it sure felt like Tuesday. Must be something about a 39 hour day!
I brought home some gifts for people.
Matthew with his ninja outfit and Terracotta Warriors.

Megan with her scarf and necklace.

Sarah with her scarf and necklace.

U with his shirt and dragon tie. I also got him a large Terracotta Warrior (the kneeling archer).

Mom with her scarf. I also got her a jade necklace. I gave dad a dragon tie and a large Terracotta Warrior (one of the high ranking officers).

Sandy with her scarf and bracelet.

Playing with grandpa.

I brought home some moon cakes to share.

Megan, Grandpa, Matthew, Me, Grandma, Sarah

I was greeted by a lot of balloons including these two. I felt loved! :)

China: The Trip Home

After eating some lunch, we headed to the airport for the flight home.
The Hainan plane we took from Beijing to Seattle.

We saw this cool plane advertising Disney Shanghai.

Our intended route home.

Francy getting ready for the flight home. The plane was another Dreamliner which was nice although it was an older one and had a few little quirks. Like it was really hard to get the trays to lock in the upright position.

Couple views of China from the plane.

The two meals on the plane. They were decent. I had the yummy salmon salad again.

Flying over clouds.

A few photos from later in the trip, possibly over Alaska.

Our plane in Seattle.

We stopped by the lounge to get some food. (Wendy got a credit card with lounge passes which we used both time in Seattle and on the way home in Beijing. We thought we'd use it during our long Beijing/Dalian layover but they didn't have a lounge we could use on the domestic concourse.)

Our Alaska plane.

Flying over Cedar City. See the temple? And the large pond?

A couple photos of the Grand Canyon.

Landed. Francy was glad to be back in Phoenix!
