Megan sayings

Megan has an interesting way of seeing things. Here are a few of her recent observations:

On not moving out once she's 18: I wouldn't want to move out right away. One, you guys are here. Two, there is food here and three, I know my around this house really well.

"If the pants are comfy, I'm in my pajamas." (She wears a lot of different pants as pajama bottoms.)

Megan, while making crepes for dinner one evening: How old is the crepe maker?
Me: We got it pretty early in our marriage.
Megan: Holy shoot! That is ancient!
Me: What does that make me?
Megan: You are ancient too.

Megan was asking Sarah about a song she used to sing.
Sarah: I have no idea what you are talking about.
Megan: You showed it to me when you were 13. You were young and new to love.

Sometimes she mishears what people say:
Sarah: I'll pay more attention.
Megan: You got a detention mark?!?

One night at dinner, Sarah said, "I will cut your eyes out with a spoon and eat them."
Me: If she does that, Dad and I will be reevaluating some things.
Megan: Like what?
U: Like where she would be living.
Megan: Can't you just cancel the adoption?

While listening to KidNuz one day, she heard them mention Turkey.
Megan said, "Turkey? Is turkey the state bird of Turkey? No? Then what is it?!?"
A few moments later, they mentioned Hungary.
Megan perked up and said, "Hungary? What's next? French Fry land????"
Then they mentioned how Wales beat Ukraine in soccer.
Megan said, "Please tell me Wales (whales) isn't a country...."

KidNuz talked about how Russia was threatening retaliation on Finland for joining NATO. Megan wondered if Russia might attack Finland like they did Ukraine. Me said Russia would be dumb to attack Finland. Megan asked, "Why? Because they're so happy?" (Finland is ranked the happiest country in the world.)

While discussing the story of Gideon and the men drinking from the river, Megan observed that, "Drinking from your hands is more sanitary and then you don't accidentally lick a fish."

While talking about medicine: Grape medicine is not grape medicine; it is torture for little kids.

Saved by Daylight Savings Time

The following is a real conversation, with real children, from this morning.

------

Matthew: Does your will leave me all your LEGOs? If not, can you update it?

Dad: There are some things that we think you can figure out for yourselves.

Megan: so is your property and money divided up?

Mom: I hope you aren’t going to kill us to get our money.

Megan: I wouldn’t kill you because I don’t want to live in foster care.

Mom: You wouldn’t live in foster care, you would live with the Adams.

Megan: I don’t want to do that because it would be far away from Jacob.

Matthew: and from Brendan and from Hami and all our other friends.

Megan: Plus they do daylight savings!

-------

We are glad that Daylight Savings is keeping us from an early grave.

Visiting the Conrads

We enjoyed being able to visit with the Conrads while we were in Colorado. We enjoyed eating dinner and and playing at their house and the park. We sure are glad we have an open relationship with them! They are such neat people :)

On Grandpa Conrad's bike.

Guess who was super excited to be on the motorcycle?!?

Megan zooming along.

Megan and Matthew thought they had a lot of fun toys. I'm not sure who is having more fun here--Kory or the kids....

Sarah played the piano a lot as everyone wanted to hear her perform.

Sarah spent a lot of time climbing around like a monkey at the park.

Definitely like a monkey....

Megan shows off her climbing skills.

Wheeee!
(Can I just say that this would make me sick?!?)

Matthew enjoying himself.

Group shot on the moving benches.

Megan Moment

In the post I wrote last week about Megan, I said how she likes order. This morning was a great example: On the way upstairs for nap, she saw the pants Sarah had left on the stairs. She picked them up and carried them upstairs. She then went into Sarah's room and opened her dresser drawer to put the pants away.
