October Happenings Besides Band

Here's the happenings (besides band) this past month.

It rained and it rained and it rained....There was lots of flooding of greenbelts and the pond literally spilled over.

Matthew making his Halloween costume.

Megan painted and decorated this mask to use with her costume.

Matthew showing off his costume with the shield he got when he was about 1.5 years old from Allison and Seth.

Matthew helping Adam demonstrate a self defense move by hugging him.

The kids were super excited the trunk or treat was on a Wednesday so they could go. Several of Megan's friends who attended last year went with us as well.

The kids happily went trick-or-treating a couple days later on Halloween.
Megan the dragon went to Elyse's neighborhood.

Adam the BYU security guard and Matthew the knight went trick or treating in our neighborhood.

Me had a sleep study. While she got a horrible night's sleep, she did not get diagnosed with sleep apnea or any other issue they were screening for.

August Happenings

August was a busy month, one in which we apparently took very few photos. To recap what is not in the photos, for Megan and Matthew, life went like this: early morning Seminary, school, homework, marching band, sleep. Repeat. Youth activities on Wednesdays. Some weekends had marching band practice as well. Megan gave a lovely talk on standing in holy places. The end of the month brought the first football game. It was an away game and the kids came home talking about how rich the other school was as they had two horses they brought onto the field plus there were fireworks at the beginning and end of the game and whenever the other team scored, which was less often than Hamilton scored. Me and U helped out with some band stuff as well (cleaning out concessions and the mezzanine at the school). Things became a bit more busy with the start up at work for U. We generally stayed out of trouble.

Laser tag with the YM. Can you see Matthew?

We enjoyed the Netherlands Yum Box.

U helped the team on the left with their sail car during a youth activity. His team took 1st place! Megan and Matthew participated in the activity as well.

Helpful reminder

Funny story from 4th period science (the one academic class Megan and Matthew have together):

The science teacher was talking about carbohydrates and how to recognize them. He said, “They are normally a hexagon, you know, like a stop sign.”

Class is silent. Matthew raises his hand and says, “A stop sign has eight sides.” Others agree.

Science teacher said, “No, it does not. You guys are just playing with me, right?” Then he pulled out his phone to check and jokingly said, “Well, that must have been recent {referring to a stop sign having 8 sides not 6}. I guess my first and second period classes weren’t listening {since none of them pointed out the mistake}.” To a student working on getting their license, he said, “When you take your driving test, remember that a stop sign has 8 sides!”

Me enjoyed doing some new puzzles.

Matthew is officially taller than Megan!

April Happenings

April was a very busy month with a lot going on!
The youth went to see the Hip Hop Homies, a group of adults with down syndrome who love to dance.

Our stake president as a Roman soldier in the church's Easter video.

Megan and Me went to a political rally.

Artemis was excited for Sarah to come visit!

Me and Lionheart. Lionheart loved chasing Artemis around; Artemis loved it too! It was so much fun to watch.

Sarah brought our Christmas gifts.

Artemis turned 3 on the 11th!

We had a fun time taking some photos in the backyard.

Lots of games were played.

Megan and Matthew spent a lot of time on robotics, getting ready for Worlds.
Matthew, Diego, Megan and Milo, ready for their interview

In the robotics room, building tall towers of rings for fun.

Lots of scorpion keychains! They are for alliance partner gifts.

Team stickers

Me put a lot of puzzles together.

Me also flattened a tire....

At the ABODA State Jazz Festival. The kids received Superior with Distinction, which is the highest rating.

Picture of the jazz band.

Matthew's feet are officially larger than Megan's! (Me has the smallest feet in the family.)

Concert at the Nash. The trombonist is Dr. Matt Lennex, Matthew's private teacher. The drummer is Dr. Chase Ellison, the new Bogle band director. It was a great concert!

The Easter bunny stopped by the house.

Me with bunny ears at a Primary Easter activity.

Matthew got a haircut.

Checking out the mohawk...

Mr. Aguero, the previous Bogle band director, had a concert the kids found out about. About a dozen showed up to support him which was great. It was fun watching the kids watch Mr. A. And there was a ton of cheering when Mr. A had a solo!
Mr. A with the kids after the concert.

Mr. A with the poster the kids made and signed for him. "Be still, be silent, be attentive" is something he would regularly tell them.

Me went on a hike to Wind Cave with some ladies from MWEG.

There was a nice view from up top.

We went to Jeremiah's one evening. Matthew liked his mud pie.

Matthew working on his passion project for social studies. He spent a lot of time on it.

Me went to visit Lionheart and Sarah.
Lionheart sporting the Bogle Botz hat per Matthew's request. He was not a fan--it was way too big!
