Field Day 2018

Megan and Matthew had field day the end of April. There were five different activities the kids could do. The kids had a great time running from activity to activity.

Other April Happenings

Here Matthew is with his teacher, Miss League.

One of our live list activities was doing an Easter Egg hunt. Dad hid the eggs instead of the Easter Bunny. The kids agreed that dad's eggs are harder to find.

One of Matthew's was in the climbing tree.

Another activity was camping in the backyard. And if there's camping, there must be s'mores.....

U getting the tent set up.

Megan and Matthew wanted to sleep in the teepee. It was a bit squishy for the two of them and it was colder than the tent. Although they both started out there, they ended up coming into the big tent: Matthew before he fell asleep and Megan around 3 am.

We went to the Arizona Science Center. Our primary purpose in going was to see the Pompeii exhibit which was fascinating.

Megan and Matthew put the arch together.

It was also astronomy day at the museum. Here Matthew shoots off the rocket he made.

You may have noticed that there aren't many pictures of Sarah. That's not for lack of trying: She typically moves out of the picture whenever we try to include her. However, here's one she took of her eyelashes on a day she thought they looked really nice.

Megan's work

Megan loves to create! Here are a few of her latest pictures as well as a story she wrote. (The edge of the story wouldn't scan so you might have to postulate a little.)

Track Meets

Sarah is participating in track this quarter at school. She loves running and pushing herself. She also enjoys the socialization. She's had three meets so far. I forgot a camera at the first one. Here are some pictures from the second and third.

Sarah running the 100m at the second meet.

Sarah running around the turn on the 200m (she's the leftmost runner).

The 200m on the straightaway.

At the start of the 100m at the third meet.

Sprinting!

Running the anchor leg of the 4x100m. She really enjoys working with the other girls and is excited to have figured out a great way to do the hand off between her and the girl who runs third. Their coach even complimented them on what a good job they did.

Father and Son Campout

In April, I took Matthew on the Aaronic Priesthood commemoration camp out.  We had a lot of fun together.  We roasted smores, played games in the tent and Matthew got to play with a bunch of his friends.  The next morning, we went hiking by Roosevelt Lake and then Matthew received his Junior Ranger badge for Tonto National Forest.

Good morning Matthew!

Easter Activities

We attended the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Temple. Megan and Matthew liked petting the sheep.

The Easter Bunny came on Easter Eve.

Searching for their eggs.

Sarah and Matthew surveying their findings. They got some jelly beans and some bunny crackers.

We enjoyed dyeing Easter Eggs.

Especially Sarah.
(She actually did enjoy it, but she also enjoyed making funny faces for the camera.)
