Other Happenings

Matthew and Megan race each other during their school's annual Spring Fling.
All smiles at the finish line.

An interesting sort of love note. ("Hi Dad!" says Matthew.)

The door we decorated for Megan's teacher for teacher appreciation week. (The room mom moved so we helped out with the end of the year activities.)

This is Mother's Day breakfast that dad, Matthew and Megan made. Yummy!

We went to KTR for a family outing. It was lots of fun. Except for the scorpion sting mom got. Ouch!

Megan jumping on a tramp at KTR! (That was fun!)

Matthew and Mom. In the baby part. Matthew loved swinging on that ring.

Monkey Sarah. She made it look so easy!

WOW DAD! YOU are AMAZING!

U and Me went with some friends, Krissy and Shawn, to a wedding murder mystery at the library.

Daddy won the Mr. Money Bags award because he had the most money. Most the money he had was pilfered from a desk while he answered a phone call but since we were encouraged to extort, steal, lie, blackmail, etc, to win (and get money), it was fair game.

The label on the bottle of sparkling cider he won.

Megan stabbed herself in the head with a pencil. She doesn't recommend doing that! U is seeing if there is lead stuck in her head that he needs to get out.

Matthew built this with pieces from a game building set dad bought. It has pieces from different games.

Sarah had a birthday (aka now we officially have a teenager)

Sarah has a birthday. Shout "Hooray!" She's now officially a teenager. We started the celebration early on Sunday evening with cake and ice cream since Grandma, Grandpa and Rowan were visiting.

Sarah with her ice cream cake.

All those candles blown out in one blow!

Sarah was heart attacked by the Young Women.

Opening her gifts. She was excited to get a curling wand.

I love the smile on Sarah's face here. She was happy about all the candy she received from her siblings.

She received her favorite book, The Maid of Fairbourne Hall.
Sarah received a lot of money for her birthday. Here she is showing off some of her purchases.

Showing off her highlights and heels.

Happy birthday Sarah! We love you!!!!

Student of the Month: Megan

Megan was chosen as Student of the Month for her class. The value was "Leader in Me." Her teacher said it was a very well-deserved award.

Receiving her award from the principal.

Giving her teacher, Ms. Epstein, a hug.

With her award.

With her teacher, Ms. Epstein. What a happy girl!

Last Two Track Meets

Here are some pictures from Sarah's last two track meets of the season.

Running the 100m dash. This track was a dirt track, which made running harder.

Running the 200m dash.

Getting ready for her last 100m dash of the season.

See those girls run! Sarah is in the inside lane.

Running the 200m dash.

Sarah really enjoyed track! And we really enjoyed watching her run and seeing her put forth a lot of effort to do her best.

Unexpected Break

The Arizona teachers went on strike so we had an unexpected six day break from school. Of course, we didn't know if would be six days--it was on a day-by-day basis. Anyhow, we took advantage of the time to play, relax and go on a few excursions, one to the Science Center and one to Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.

Sarah figures out the puzzle while Matthew and Megan look on.

Sarah enjoyed riding the SkyCycle.

Matthew working on his coding skills.

Megan enjoyed warping her image using different filters.

The real Megan along with the warped image.

We enjoyed watching the Africa 3D Imax movie (kids were free).

We enjoyed going to Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, which is celebrating its 100th birthday this year.

Matthew celebrating.

Megan celebrating.

Our local Junior Rangers

Look! A picture of Sarah!

Matthew and Megan in front of some of the ruins.

Sarah and her friend Lynette inside the secret room. (There's a little door you have to go through to get into the room.)

Lynette, Sarah, Matthew and Megan with Casa Grande behind them. It's an impressive structure.

A great horned owl was hanging out at the ruins as well. It was really cool to see!
