Legos, Dances and Programs, Oh My!

A few other recent happenings.

Matthew and Megan enjoy monthly Lego mini builds.

Sarah attended a "dance" at her school (really a bunch of activities with music--there's not much dancing going on). Here she is with her friend Dario.

With her friend Fayt.

Megan and Matthew singing The Rattlin' Bog, an Irish song, at their school's Cultural Fair.

Robert, Megan and Jeffrey at church the day of our ward's Primary Program.

Sarah was baptized for her great grandma!

Matthew got a new bike which he loves! (And those training wheels came off as soon as we got home--he's never used them and he's not going to start now!)

To serve in the Relief Society Presidency, but not to be the President, one must have this make, model and color of car......

Primary Program

It was our ward's Primary Program at church. The kids all sang and had speaking parts. Sarah was also one of the narrators and played the cello with a group of a few other kids during one of the songs. It was a great program.

Sarah's part: This year I have been reading the Book of Mormon with my dad. I have been reading most every night before bed. I really like the scripture in 3 Nephi 27:29 that says, "Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened."

Megan's part: Prophets teach us about Jesus and they help us learn.

Matthew's part: Prophets teach us to be nice to each other.
(Matthew is super excited to have a suit!)

Primary Talk

Megan had a talk in Primary today.  She did a great job.  Here is her talk:

Our bodies are a temple. We should put good food in our bodies.

(Holds up picture of Daniel and friends refusing the king's food.)

This is a story about Daniel and his friends who were asked to eat unhealthy food.  The king's servant said to eat the food but the boys said "No." They said they would eat vegetables and drink water and the servant could check on them after ten days.  So he waited for the ten days and Daniel and his friends were healthier than the others. Then the king's servant gave good food to all of the boys.  Daniel and his friends became the king's servants and they were also strong followers of God.

Good food makes us healthy and strong like Heavenly Father.  I'm glad that we can have healthy food. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Matthew's Talk

Matthew had a talk today in primary. The theme for the month is "the first principles and ordinances of the gospel."

Here is his talk:

I am going to talk about having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Nephi is a good example of showing faith.  The Lord commanded Nephi to go and get the plates.  Nephi was courageous and went to do it even though he wasn't sure how to do it.  He knew the Lord would provide a way.

I can show faith in Jesus Christ by going to church and the temple.  I can read my scriptures and say my prayers. I can listen to my parents.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Matthew's Talk

Matthew had a talk to give in Primary today. He worked with me on what to say and picked a couple pictures to go with it.  I almost titled the post "Matthew's Non-talk" because he didn't say a word of it when he was in front of people. Below is the text of his talk:

"I am going to talk about Jesus. Jesus died and they put him in the tomb. The people were sad. They didn't know he would be resurrected.  When Jesus was resurrected, the people were happy.  He was nice. Jesus died and was resurrected so we can be resurrected. Jesus told us to change and follow him. I love Jesus.
"In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."
