Halloween and Other Happenings

We went to the Hall of Flame for their annual Halloween gathering. Matthew and Megan wanted to go to "the truck you can climb in" right away.

We have had the sister missionaries over a few times lately. Sister Shin is from Myanmar and Sister Avanceñe is from The Phillipines.

When he hears that fire alarm.....

The scene in front of our house earlier this afternoon: 3 large fire trucks (2 of them from Gilbert), 3 police cars (blocking the road on each end) and one fire pickup truck. After it was over, we found out that the issue was a broken gas pipe in a neighbor's home. Thankfully the gas company arrived and was able to turn off the gas before anything bad happened.

From Sarah's bedroom window. You can see the fire pickup truck and one of the Gilbert fire trucks. A bunch of firemen were congregating on the driveway of the far home on the left. They didn't seem to be in a big hurry yet there were so many of them.

California Day 6: Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Part II

We went to Sea Life Aquarium for a little break. Watching this octopus crawl back and forth was really neat!

There were so many fish swimming around the big tank including some rays and sharks. Here a shark is swimming right over a Lego sea exploration vehicle.

U admiring minifigures. Trading minifigures was a big thing and U definitely was in on the action. He was especially drawn to classic space minifigures and couldn't understand how anyone could possibly part with one. Matthew thought it was great when he traded a piece of Chi for a minifigure (the Cast Member had never seen Chi before). Everyone traded to get particular parts they wanted (like an accessory or shirt or hair) and would slowly piece together the minifigure they wanted.

It was very important that scuba man get his own photo.

As we were leaving Legoland, Megan commented that this was a short vacation. I asked her how she felt about that and she remarked that she prefers longer vacations. And we've had some long ones lately: 6.5 weeks for our east coast trip, 2.5 weeks for visiting family over spring break and 2.5 weeks for India and Japan. Notwithstanding the short length of the trip, a great time was had by all.
