Tired Megan! (And yes, she really is sleeping!)

Kids putting on a puppet show during Family Home Evening. Mom and dad did the initial show, acting out some situations that may or may not have actually occurred in the home and then having the kids discuss how the situation could have been handled differently. The kids thought this was hilarious and wanted to do a few shows of their own. And yes, they were good at conflict resolution. Now if we can just teach them to apply it when a situation (key moment) is actually occurring.....

Megan made this lovely flower with blueberries. She sorted the berries by size and even added a leaf. She was quite proud of her creation.

First Running Club Race

The kids had their first running club race yesterday. The race is one mile long and all the kids ran fast! Here are some pictures from along the course:

100th Day of School

Today was the 100th Day of School. To celebrate, the kindergarteners each made something with 100 items. They then got to look at all of the other kindergarteners projects.

Megan wanted to make a flower. She used 100 seeds (99 sunflower seed and one avocado seed) and then made a flower growing from the avocado seed.

Matthew designed something with Legos. Despite the look on his face, he really enjoyed the project and even started another one at home where he wasn't limited by the number of items. (He kept wanting to add more Legos.) His hat has 100 dots on it--they filled one in each day.

Matthew had his six year check up last week. He's looking good.

Height: 42 inches (4%)

A few interesting things I learned at the doctor's:
Matthew's favorite school subject is math.
A green vegetable he likes to eat is broccoli.

Meet a Ballerina

Last weekend, our local library had a program where you could meet a ballerina. She told us about her typical day, how long a pair of ballet pointe shoes last (1 day!) and rehearsal schedules. She brought a costume that she showed us and let us feel. She showed us the various ballet positions for both the feet and the arms. The ballet master was also there and so they showed us how they use ballet to act out stories. It was an interesting experience!
