October happenings

Megan and Matthew giving Artemis some loves.

Matthew at Hamilton band night. Both he and Megan went. They were able to play with the high school band as well as watch some of the football game.

Matthew had his first robotics competition. Here are the four Bogle teams.

His team talking to the judges during the interview.

Megan with in her Groot costume. She spent a lot of time on her pumpkin, too.

Matthew as Baby Groot (in pjs).

Sarah came for the ward trunk or treat and also for Halloween. It was nice to see her. She brought Prince with her on Halloween.

Our neighbor's pumpkins. They are pretty amazing! Megan especially liked the Groot.

Great Lakes Day 15/16: Minneapolis, Trip Home

Our hotel in Wisconsin was literally a tower.

We stopped by the duplex where Me spent the first (almost) 4 years of her life.

Burton Hall, where my dad spent 4 years of his life getting his PhD.

We stopped by the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

Megan, Me and Matthew. This piece of artwork was the basis for one of the last Art Masterpiece projects that we did.

About the artwork

Matthew talking to Jacob while Megan tries to call Jacob. (Prior to this, Megan had been talking to Jacob; Matthew called Jacob and so Jacob hung up with Megan to talk to Matthew.)

A few of the pieces of art

We went to the Mall of America. Megan and Matthew were amazed by its size. We wandered around a bit, did a Pokémon Go raid, ate dinner and visited the LEGO store.

Matthew liked seeing all the football helmets.

Some pictures of the creations outside the LEGO store.

It's interesting to see the evolution of the LEGO logo.

We went on the FlyOver America experience which was cool. It's similar to Soarin' at California Adventure.
Pilot Matthew

Megan and Me with a map of where we flew.

The final odometer on our car. That's a lot of miles and a lot of time behind the wheel!

We got up early to catch our flight home. Here's out attempt at getting all of us in one photo.

Great Lakes Day 14: Kitch-iti-kipi, Fayette Historic State Park

Friday morning, we said goodbye to Mackinac City and headed towards Wisconsin.

Megan, Matthew and Me with our car.

Me and Megan at Cut River Bridge. There was a lot of nice color!

Cool looking bridge.

Matthew moving the raft. He turned the wheel both ways.

Looking down at the spring. The water is so clear. The spring is about 40 feet deep.

It is around 200 feet across the spring.

So clear!

We saw a number of fish swimming over the spring.

Some sort of lakeweed growing on the log.

We then went to Fayette Historic State Park which was a town that manufactured charcoal pig iron in the late 1800s. It was in a very picturesque setting.

The furnace complex

U, Megan and Matthew with the furnace complex and some of the other town buildings behind.

We then drove through the rain to our hotel in Wisconsin. Cute quote from along the drive from Megan, "Anything can happen in a little town in Michigan."
