The best treat ever!!

Tonight, the kids wanted a treat, so I told them that I would get them the "best treat ever" to share with them.  I went up stairs, changed into my pajamas and came back down.  They really wanted their treat so I called them over (Sarah refused saying: he's just going to give you a hug and a kiss, what a cynic :) ).  I then proceeded to hug them and tell them I loved them and then I sang "The Greatest Thing of All" from a record we had growing up.  They actually liked it!  Afterwards, they also liked me sharing some fruit snacks with them as well.

After we watched a short movie, Megan called us all together and asked if we wanted a special treat. She then told us to go to the counter and got out 2 blackberries for each of us. At this point, Sarah saw an opportunity and said that she had a special treat for us as well. She cut up an apple for us to share. Finally, Matthew decided he wanted to have a special treat too and shared a banana with everyone.

Pillsbury Dough Girl

Yes, the Pillsbury Dough Girl lives at our home. Her name is Megan and she's super cute:) This particular evening, she told me she was going to put a lot of pajamas on. How many, you ask? Seven! Her upper arms and legs, in particular, are very puffy since most the the sleeves/legs didn't get pulled down all the way. She was definitely very huggable!

Preschool

Last week, we studied the letter "b." Our Bible stories were about Jesus calming the storm and walking on water and we learned all about boats. Megan and Matthew both think that "b" looks a lot like "d" and put their "b" next to their "d" on the letter wall. They really enjoyed our sink or float activity where we put lots of things in a tub of water so see what happened. One day we had boat snacks.

Megan cut out a bunch of sails to put on her boats. She was very proud of her work.

This week, we studied the letter "h." Our Bible story was about Jesus feeding the multitudes and we talked about being "hungry" and food. We made bread in a bag. It was delicious

We sorted our food purchases by food group. We must eat a lot of fruit and veggies!

Matthew wanted me to take a picture of the tower he made with some of the food.

Cezanne drawings

A few weeks ago, we studies Paul Cezanne in preschool. Here are our charcoal drawings imitating his style.

Megan read this scripture this morning, with daddy's help. It went something like this:

Daddy: "I can do all things"

Megan: "I can do all things all by myself!"

Dueling Elsas

The other night at dinner, Megan and Matthew decided that napkins made great flowing trains and that the obvious choice for a person was the fork.

Who has a long flowing train on her dress? Elsa of course. So then we had two forks, dressed in napkins and singing to prove which of them was the real Elsa.

ZooLights

A couple weeks ago we took our annual trip to ZooLights. It's always a lot of fun to see the zoo with all the Christmas lights everywhere. Favorite things were Music in Motion (the synchronized music/lights on the lake and the surrounding environs) as well as Jengo the Talking Giraffe and Tortuga the Talking Galapagos Tortoise.  Tortuga, in particular, took an interest in our family, first asking Megan who her favorite princess was (Tangled) and then singing some of "At Last I See the Light" and then asking Matthew about himself and singing "Everything is Awesome."
