Last night Me was really tired and was in bed by 8:30. (Maybe catching a little nap before that.) U moved her kindle and asked her if she was ready to go to sleep and she said, "Just a minute, I was in the middle of something, and not just a nap." Then she went back to sleep. :)

Acorns
A little background is in order for this one:
When Me and I were married, we received many wonderful gifts. Among these was a gift certificate to Crate & Barrel. Now, we aren't big shoppers anyway and certainly not at Crate & Barrel, so this gift card just languished in our file for a while. Finally as Christmas approached we decided we would use it to get some Christmas decorations. We found a couple of glass birds and some great icicles but still had a bit left so we decided that each of us could choose one more ornament. I chose a great metal snowflake that could easily be sharpened and used as a throwing star. (It never hurts to be prepared...) Me chose something that looked similar to this:
Hers was a little different in that there were two of them strung from a loop and they were bronze and gold but I couldn't be bothered to unpack Christmas to get an actual shot.
Regardless, she was very fond of her "acorns." I laughed at her and she wanted to know what was so funny. I explained that what she had weren't acorns but pinecones. Now for some reason, this label has stuck with her through the years. As we unpack the Christmas ornaments, she'll look for her box and say "Now these are acorns right?" (Actually the last few years she has gotten better.) In any case, we affectionately know them as her acorns.
Fast forward to last Thursday. I was at the park with M&M and Megan came running up to me with a big grin and said "Daddy! Look at all the acorns at the park!"
Yes. Apparently it has been passed down.
Long live the acorns!

A Blendtec will blend anything!
Tonight during Sarah's spelling:
Me: Wrong. It would be wrong to put Matthew in the blender. Wrong.
Matthew: Put Matthew in the blender tomorrow.
Me was up early with kids and didn't get to lay down so she was a bit slap happy.
