To the Zoo with Cousins

On Friday, we headed to the zoo to see what we could see. It was a nice sunny day and we enjoyed our time there.

Do you see the snake? It is partially buried; its eye is visible if you look closely.

Couple of toads.

Watching the wolf pace around its pen.

With the flamingos. Sarah did a bunch of posing.

Watching the orangutans. The 2 year old baby Jiwa enjoyed playing around her mom. (Did you know baby orangutans nurse for 4 years and stay with their moms until they are around 7-8 years old?)

Kasih observing some of the kids.

I love the look on Daniel's face here. It's like he's playing peekaboo with the kids who are watching him.

Funny position for a bird to be in. Maybe it was warming up? It was fine as it later got up and started walking around.

There's a tree the kids can get in and stick their head through to see what it's like to be a baby bird. Here we have baby Luke.

Baby Benjamin.

Baby Sarah.

Baby Megan.

Baby Matthew.

Baby Andrew.

Baby Elizabeth.

Such a colorful bird!

Sarah and Luke with the elephant.

The komodo dragon was walking around.

Sariah was pacing around in front of the glass.

Elizabeth thought this was great and banged on the glass every time she walked by.

On the safari train.

U with the Lego cameleon. So colorful!

We stopped at the desert playground for quite awhile. The kids had a great time playing. (Isn't that why you go to a zoo--to go to the playground?)

Here a huge spider is sucking the blood out of Benjamin. The kids loved this game and U even had kids we didn't know asking him to chase them (which he didn't but it shows how fun it was).

Sarah climbing on the rope.

Luke and Megan climbing.

Sarah and Luke perched on the posts.

Elizabeth loved climbing too.

Yogi Sarah.

Hey Luke!

Andrew climbing with Elizabeth and Matthew in background.

Our observation point. (Megan had hurt herself and was getting some mommy snuggles. She was up and running around soon.)

The kids enjoyed playing on the statues of the animals. The animals in this area are life-sized replicas.

Megan and the lion.

Elizabeth and the lion.

Sarah's not as tall as an elephant yet.

Matthew and Luke on some sort of deer/antelope.

Front view.

Rock climbing Sarah. She thought this was the best part.

Megan loves elephants!

Matthew and Elizabeth with the warthog.

Me and Megan.

Matthew and the lion.

Matthew and the ostrich.

Megan and the warthog.

Matthew on the elephant trunk.

Matthew and the meerkats.

Tortoise Matthew. (This is a different section with similar exhibits that are larger than life.)

What a treasure in the clamshell!

Farmer Megan.

The Lego exhibit is still at the zoo. Love the tortoise with the bird on its back.

Snow leopard.
