Magnificent Matthew

Matthew is such an energetic little boy!  He has a good imagination and it's a lot of fun to watch and listen to him play. For example, when it was time to clean up the Duplos today, he hooked one of his Duplo fire engines up to a basket. The fire truck then drove to where some Duplos were and he loaded them in the basket. Then he drove the fire truck to the Duplo bin, dumped them in and repeated with more Duplos. So cute!

Matthew loves his daddy. Pretty much every morning he waves goodbye to him from the tower window. And he is so excited when daddy comes home.

If the early bird catches the worm, Matthew has his. Like I mentioned in my post yesterday, Matthew is usually up very early, often by 5 or so. He likes to see U before he goes to work and sometimes even gets to eat with him. He is pretty good about playing quietly in the tower until other people are up.

Matthew is very polite. It just melts my heart to hear him say "Please mom!" and "Thanks mom!" both of which he does often. Tonight at dinner, he asked U if he wanted some cauliflower and then proceeded to pass it to him. He is also very helpful. He loves to help make and clean up meals, he likes sweeping and he wants to be the one to gather the trash. It's so nice to have such a polite, helpful boy in the home!

Matthew LOVES singing. He reminds me of Sarah in this way--always singing. A lot of the songs he sings are Primary songs (Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, Snowman, Popcorn popping, Wise man/foolish man). I think my favorite song to hear him sing comes from our Potty Time DVD. He sings, "My body is amazing, amazing, amazing. My body is amazing just LOOK AT ME." And he absolutely belts out that last part. I have to say that I agree with him:)

Matthew certainly keeps us on our toes. For example, a little bit ago during nap time, we heard him in our closet and figured we should go check on him. This is what we found:

He'd taken all our tomato sauce, most of our tomato paste, some diced tomatoes and some cereal off of the shelves and put them in his pack n play. He looked so cute when we found him. Once we told him that he was to leave the food on the shelves, he did a pretty good job listening. Instead of taking the food off of the shelves, he rearranged it. (He's listening, right???)

Not to worry, though. He doesn't do that anymore. Why? Well, because he's decided that our bathtub is really THE place to nap. For some reason unknown to anyone but him, he's been sleeping in our bathtub at nap time for the last little bit. He's only turned the water on a couple times.

Let me introduce you to Matthew, the kitchen sink. I think I will take the kitchen sink with me when I go places:)

An inside view.

Playing with Pooh in his doggy jams.

He loves swinging!
(Kind of looks like a glamour shot.)

Secret Agent Matthew.
