Hawaii Day 4: Napili, Kapalua, snorkeling

 We spent quite a bit of time on the lanai watching whales. We saw quite a few. Through the binoculars, Me even saw one breech which was so neat!

We drove up to Kapalua to do a little hike and walk through the labyrinth. 

We spent some time exploring the Dragon's Teeth area. There were lots of cool rock formations. There were a lot of whales in the area as well. We saw a group moving down the coastline.

When we got back to the condo, Megan and Me walked to Honokeana Bay to look for turtles. We saw quite a few.

After dinner, we went to Honokeana Bay to do some more snorkeling. Megan and Matthew really wanted to go there again because of all the turtles. We are happy to report that the turtles did not disappoint. Matthew and Me saw one eating against a sea wall that they watched for quite awhile. U had one pop up right in front of him. Some were hanging out on the sea floor while others were swimming around. In addition, we saw lots of colorful coral and fish. Megan even saw a puffer fish.

Turtles here, turtles there...

We saw turtles everywhere!

U and Me hiked along the Kapalua Coastal Trail and then walked down a headland to watch the sunset.

Me with one of her top attractions from any beach: the sunset!

You can see Moloka'i to the northwest. The landscape looks similar to that at Dragon's Teeth. It's like both were made from the same materials.

Sun is down. We had some good clouds for it. The island on the right is Moloka'i and on the left is Lana'i.

It was a little breezy.

The porous structures in the lava were neat to see.
