Hawaii Day 3: Napili, Nakalele Blowhole, Snorkeling

Our car on Maui

We really enjoyed staying at Napili Point Resort as we could see whales from the lanai and sea turtles in the bay on the south side of the complex. Here's a few pictures of our condo.

Beautiful sunrise view with Moloka'i in the background.

After breakfast, we headed out to snorkel at Honolua Bay. The water was relatively calm. We enjoyed looking at the colorful coral and fish. Matthew got chilled and got out earlier than the rest of us. It started to rain after we had been there a bit. Unfortunately, we were not able to get any underwater pictures there.

Getting ready to head back to the condo.

After lunch, we went to Nakalele Blowhole.
Megan found lots of little shells.

There was some good action at the blowhole. Sometimes it would be higher than the cliff behind it. They often looked like water tornados. The tall sprays were often followed by a big surge of water through the blowhole.

Matthew found some shells, too.

The kids decided they wanted to go snorkeling at Honokeana Bay. It was right by our condo and is home to many sea turtles. Entry is a bit tricky but Megan and Matthew really wanted to see turtles! And see them they did. There were lots of colorful coral and fish as well. Everyone enjoyed it although everyone but Me got a bit battered around either getting in or out of the water. Here are a couple of pictures we got of the sea turtles.

At sunset

After sunset, U and Me walked down to Napili Beach. The sky was still really colorful from the sunset.
