Great Lakes Day 5: Hotel Beach and the Porkies

Pretty sunrise!

Waffles at breakfast. Me asked the kids if they remembered the Texas-shaped waffles. Matthew said, "Yes. I liked eating Texas."

U pondering at the nice lakefront area of our hotel.

Megan collected leaves that she would then put in Lake Superior to clean them off. Matthew would then fetch them out of the lake.

Matthew fetching the leaves. He almost fell in a few times but managed to stay dry.

Panoramic of the beachfront area. It was really nice!

These rocks look like dragon scales.

We went to Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park (aka the porkies). This is at Lake of the Clouds overlook. It was really pretty with a lot of fall color.

Nice color

What a beautiful area!

We then went to the Presque Isle Waterfall area of the park where we hiked to three waterfalls. Here's a few pictures from the area.

Megan sat on this bench and said, "My favorite place on the trail: the bench at the top of the stairs." There really were quite a few stairs. Megan and Matthew collected a lot of leaves.

We drove to Houghton. It's a picturesque town with a pretty bridge.

It has some cool crosswalks.

Pizza dinner.
