China Beijing: Lama Temple

Monday morning, we headed to the Lama Temple. It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet. There are many buildings, all with at least one Buddha statue. In the northernmost building, there is an 18 meter sandalwood statue of Buddha. It's huge! In one of the side buildings, Louise and I heard a monk doing some sort of chanting. It was really cool!

These tablets remind me of Mulan when she called on the spirits of her ancestors to come help her and the writing on the tablets lit up.

We found a little doorway that led around the corner of the building.
