Saturday afternoon, we went to the Mysterious Orient. It was an interesting place with lots of different statues of Buddha. It was huge! We kept thinking we were at the back of the exhibit, only to discover that it kept going.

We came across this donkey in our wanderings.
This Buddha was up quite high on the top of some beautiful red rock formations.
Oh no! A giant's hand grabbed Francy!

Pathway up in the rocks. See the white Buddha head in the background? It was fun to explore!
We could see more Buddhas from the rocks.
Francy leads the way.
Me and Francy on a huge bench as the front of a large procession (see following pictures).

This huge "procession" went on for a long time. We decided it probably includes Chinese history and mythology. We had fun guessing at the stories.

Wizard of Oz statue.
Huge Buddha at the top of a hill. There were a lot of things about this place that reminded me of India. This statue definitely did!
Looking up at Buddha once we'd climbed the hill.
Look at all those hands!
View of the sea from the top of the hill.
Chinese dragon.
Entrance/exit to the exhibit. Notice the large Buddha statue on the left. Looking not quite so large....

What a fascinating place! And that is a lot of Buddahs! And all those hands did remind me of some Hindu statues in India.
