California Trip Day 5: Beach and Botanic Garden

Sunday morning, we checked out of our condo. We had some ice cream that we needed to eat in the freezer. Matthew thought it was the best breakfast ever! (No, that wasn't our entire breakfast! We also had some yummy breakfast sandwiches.)

We took one last walk down the beach before heading to church. Megan and Sarah walked right by the water.

Matthew really wanted a photo with the fire truck. A couple minutes later, this truck along with an ambulance, police car and 2 life guard trucks went by us with their light flashing. Matthew was trying to figure out why all those vehicles were needed and decided that someone must have hit their head, drowned and fallen down the stairs while a robber put a house on fire.

After church, we went to the San Diego Botanic Garden. It was nice to wander around a bit. Here Matthew is with a huge bamboo statue at the front of the bamboo forest.

They had a really nice children's garden that the kids played in for quite awhile. Here Matthew is in Toni's tree house.
