Megan was really excited that Uncle Seth gave her a bucket and shovel and kept asking to go to the park. When we weren't able to take her right away, she found rocks to move around in grandma and grandpa's yard. She was happy when I was able to take her to the park later that evening and spent most of the time with her bucket and shovel.
Even though he slept in the dark basement, Matthew still woke up early most mornings. He would often come up to our room and would sometimes sleep a bit longer.
Grandma watched the kids while U and Me went on a date to Toast for breakfast. Lots of yummy food and great company :)
Our flight home was relatively uneventful. They made an announcement before boarding the plane about someone on the flight having a peanut allergy and requesting people not to eat peanuts on the flight. That was interesting--they've sometimes made an announcement on the plane but never preboarding. One other interesting thing was that they only let Matthew and one other person preboard the plane (preboard is due to peanut allergy--quite helpful since we can wipe stuff down, etc). However, they told us to take both car seats and set them up and save seats for the others. I thought it a bit strange that they didn't let us all get on and yet we got 5 seats during pre-board, so we might as well have all boarded then. Megan and Matthew both liked looking out the window during the flight. Even though we had a late flight, Megan didn't fall asleep at all (not even on the car ride home!). Matthew was planning on staying awake to see us land but eventually fell asleep when there weren't many lights out the window and then boy did he sleep! He transitioned from his car seat on the plane to U holding him to riding in the stroller to riding on the shuttle to our car to his bed without ever waking up. Tired kid! (It was after 11 when we got home, which is after midnight in Colorado.) Sarah, of course, was awake the whole time.
We were glad to be home (living almost 4 weeks out of 6 weeks in other people's homes was a bit exhausting). Overall, it was a great trip and we enjoyed visiting with everyone!
We enjoyed your visit a lot! Come anytime!
