Thanksgiving

We went to my sister's house in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. I was a little nervous about the trip since the last time we went on a long road trip, there was much screaming and crying involved. This was much better! I wouldn't say there was no crying and I did spend a lot of the time in the middle seat between Megan and Matthew, but it wasn't bad at all. The sleeping on the other hand....Well, we thought we might go home early after the first night, but thankfully each night got a little better.

We arrived on Wednesday night. Thursday was turkey day. K's sister and brother and their families came over so there were quite a few of us. We were well-fed--CL made a delicious turkey, we had lots of other yummy food and of course ate too much pie. 

Friday, we went to see my aunt and uncle and their family who live in Henderson. All 8 of their kids were there plus a few extra (spouse, boyfriend). We had a nice visit with them.

We then went to the Ethel M Cactus Garden Christmas light display. It was cool and a lot bigger than we thought it would be. On our way in, a couple of people gave us these 3D glasses that made all the lights look like snow flakes. It was really pretty neat! (Some of the little people in our group may have thought that we should have had more of the glasses, but since I didn't see anyone else with them, I think we were lucky to have them at all!)

On Saturday, Uncle K launched a couple of rockets he made.

That evening, we went to a park. It was a bit on the chilly side, but still fun.

Megan enjoyed being with all our family on the trip. In fact, sometimes they were preferred over mom and dad. That was popular, especially when we were with my aunt and cousins and with a certain aunt. It was nice for mom and dad to have a break sometimes, too.
