The morning after U flew into Vegas, we headed up to Provo to visit with his parents and other family. We had a very busy week there as well. We enjoyed being with family, playing games, going to the park, spending time outside in cooler weather and eating Belgian waffles.
After we arrived on Saturday evening, we went up to the grassy area between the Provo temple and MTC to watch some fireworks.

The next day was pretty crazy and stressful for me as I found out that my dad, who is currently in India, was going to have heart surgery the next day. The news came as a total shock and I spent a good part of the day communicating with extended family, including my mom. We were able to have a family hangout that evening (the morning of the surgery for my mom) which was nice. We found out the history of what was going on and were glad to learn that he had a very capable medical team with the head doctor being certified both in the US and in India. This news was very comforting, but, as my mom said, even if a surgery is routine and low risk, it doesn't seem so routine when it's you (or your dad) who is having the surgery. Thankfully everything turned out well and my dad is doing great. For more details, read my mom's blog post about it here.
That evening, we went to Christian and Allison's home for dinner. After, people enjoyed playing some video games and board games.
Sarah and her cousins enjoyed giving themselves tatoos.....
.....and decorating their faces and hiding under beds.
Megan loved seeing Sarah (Christian's girlfriend) and gave her lots of big hugs.
She also loved seeing Aunt Allison.
Another Sarah hug. Seriously, Megan has an amazing hug!
We enjoyed playing games quite a few evenings we were there. It was nice to be able to spend a lot of time outside in grandma and grandpa's new gazebo.
Sarah and Charly dressed like twins.

Coming down.
Matthew joining in on the action.
The four kids. They sure had fun climbing around and splashing in the water.
Kemarie, Charly and Sarah had a lemonade stand. Megan and Matthew helped as well. Grandma and Grandpa live on a pretty busy corner so they actually made a fair bit of money.
One evening, we went swimming and had a BBQ at a neighbor's home.
Megan.
Matthew liked being the life guard, sitting on the ladder with the floaty strip.
He also liked using the snorkel to dip his head underwater.
Rowan giving Megan a piggyback ride.
The girls enjoyed having races and doing handstands on the bottom of the pool. It was fun to see them all do handstands at the same time.
Matthew liked having his own special room to sleep in.
The last few days of the trip. we pulled out their hammock. It was nice to relax in.
The kids also enjoyed the hammock.
Although it wasn't always so relaxing when they were in it.
We enjoyed our time in Provo. It certainly was nice to see family and to get out of the heat!
Family time, cousin time, grandparent time, all so precious! Good memories!
