California trip day 5: More LEGOland!

Friday morning, we ate breakfast at the hotel buffet. Towards the end, Jangle the Jester came up to talk with us. He was very friendly, asking the kids some questions about their plans for the day and telling a few jokes. 

We headed over to Legoland. We went on Safari Trek. That is one of my favorite rides--I like seeing the Lego animals.

We then went on Kid Power Towers. 

Sarah practiced her driving skills at Driving School. (Junior school had a delay opening so Megan and Matthew couldn't go.)

We did Police and Fire Academy.

(I watched--it's easier to do with more people and there's a max of 4 people/vehicle.)

Then all three kids did driving school, Sarah once and the others twice. The younger two's driving skills were much-improved, especially by the second time driving. They avoided other vehicles like pros. Megan even decided it was ok for her to keep her license that she received.

We went to Skipper School. U, Sarah and Matthew went on Captain Cranky's Challenge while Megan played in a play area for awhile.

We then rode AquaZone Wave Racers followed by the Dragon two times. 

The kids explored the Hideaways, which is a super big play area. Super big, as in I went looking for Matthew and couldn't find him.

Then we all went down to Miniland. It was fun to wander around and see all the creations.

The girls and I rode AquaZone Wave Racers while the men finished looking at Miniland.

We then rode on the Coast Cruise. We had a good skipper who told lots of corny jokes as he showed us many famous sites from around the world.

We then went to the Lego Movie Experience where we were able to see the actual movie set from the Lego Movie. That was really neat to look at. We spent quite a bit of time wandering around in there. Matthew kept having things he wanted to show us and he has several other Lego sets he would like to own. We had to pry U and Matthew away; they probably would have spent the rest of the day there. It was really cool! And now I want to watch that part of the LEGO Movie to notice all the things we saw.

We then met Emmet. The kids all gave him lots of hugs and Megan told him that we had his movie. Very cute!

We went to the Lego Factory Tour where we learned how Legos are built and even saw "Lego" get printed on a brick. 

We went on Fairy Tale Brook. Another favorite ride, even if it is disturbing to see Little Red Riding Hood dancing with the wolf at the end of the ride.

U and the girls then headed to Pirate Shores, where the girls played on a pirate ship at Soak-n-Sail and splashed around on Swabbies Deck. They were both completely drenched!

Matthew and I went to Duplo Playtown. Matthew enjoyed playing there. We also rode the Legoland Express a couple of times and watched some of the Lego Friends show.

After Legoland closed, we went to the hotel to pick up our suitcases. We also took a few minutes to explore the different halls of the hotel. Each floor is themed. We stayed on the third floor, which is adventure-themed. The first floor is kingdom-themed and the second is pirate-themed. I personally think ours was the best (especially since it was on the third floor so we got the most time on the elevators--seriously a good thing) but enjoyed seeing the decor on the other floors as well. 

We then drove to our next hotel where we ate a light dinner before going to bed. Saturday morning, we ate breakfast, the kids and U swam for a short bit and then we headed home.
