Sarah's 1st Swim Meet

Sarah's participating on the city's swim team this summer. This means she has swim practice Tuesday through Friday at 8 am and meets most Saturdays. Today was her first meet. She really enjoyed it. She swam against other 7 and 8 year old girls. There were up to 8 swimmers per wave although some of her races had less (all of her races had multiple waves for her age group).  They swam 25 yards for each stroke. Here are her results, in the order swum:

Freestyle: 27.78 sec, 5th place
Backstroke: 35.22 sec, 5th place
Butterfly: 29.06 sec, 1st place!!!
Breaststroke: 36.15 sec, 2nd place

It was fun to watch, although got a little hot toward the end (high around 110 today). I was really impressed with her butterfly. I always think of that as the "hard stroke" but she did it really well and won her heat by quite a bit. Go Sarah!
