Colorado Trip: The Road Trip

Less than two days after arriving in Colorado, we headed out to the Western Slope to visit my grandparents.  Roughly a five hour drive from my parents' home, it is a relatively easy trip for most of us.  However, Megan and Matthew (especially Matthew) would like you to know that five hours is a LONG time to be in a car seat.  My mom asked as we left what the longest car ride they'd been on was.  Besides the trip home from DIA, Matthew's longest was about 30 minutes.  Same goes for Megan if you don't count the trip home from Flagstaff and the trip to the Grand Canyon when she was a month old.  So it really was a long trip for them.  They did pretty well on the way out there.  The trip home on Sunday was a bit more challenging for Matthew--he was done!  It went ok for Megan once we discovered the power of pretzels to help keep her occupied.

We enjoyed visiting with my grandparents.  I think they decided we are very busy with the two babies.  (It probably didn't help that they both had rough nights while we were there.)  Sarah had a lot of fun looking for deer and playing with grandma's old toys. My Aunt Sue came over for a few hours as well which was nice.
