Winter Break

U had off the first week in January so we enjoyed some family activities both at home and away.

Me and Matthew enjoyed playing the Jacquie Lawson calendar games together.
The object of this game is to turn all the light green squares to brown by making matches. Pretty impressive amount turned considering we had taken no moves! (We had clicked a special tile that set off a big chain reaction.)

Yeah! New record for finishing the puzzle in 13 moves.

Lest you think we always finished things quickly, here is one puzzle we decided to stop after 100 moves. We really were just hoping the right tiles would appear so we could clear the one remaining tile

New record!

We got together with our Anasazi support group for lunch. It was our first time meeting a lot of these people in person.

We put together the mystery puzzle we received for Christmas. It was interesting to see what had changed between the initial scene and the puzzle.

We had popcorn tasting.

All the flavors: caramel, apple crisp (kind of tastes like Apple Jacks), better butter (like kettle corn with butter on it), cinnamon, triple white cheddar and zebra

We "hiked" to the pyramid where the first governor of Arizona is buried. (It was a couple minute walk up a short hill.)

We hiked to Hole in the Rock to eat some lunch.

Then we headed to the zoo.

These black geese were very protective of their eggs.

Ah! Brings back lots of memories of past trips to the zoo. Matthew and Megan have certainly grown!

Artemis enjoys time in the sun to warm up.
