Grand Canyon: The End

This was our hotel room inside the park.  It was nice being so close.

Room keys make you feel so powerful!

We rode the shuttle to the Abyss and walked along the rim to Mohave Point.

We saw a number of helicopters going up and down carrying supplies.

This chipmunk was sitting on the very edge of the canyon enjoying the view while eating his breakfast. We missed the picture but still captured him.

The top rock is all deposited in layers.  Sedimentary formations.

The bottom rock is known as basement rock and is what the continent is made of.

We then drove down Desert View Drive to get some other views of the canyon. Our first stop was Grandview Point.

It is the 100th birthday of the Grand Canyon National Park. Junior Ranger Matthew helped celebrate.

So did Junior Ranger Megan.

When we were up in the watchtower, we saw some friends of ours from church.
