The girls had their second swim meet the end of June in Maricopa. The pool is quite different--it is shallow on one end (around 4 feet) and then drops to 12 feet at the other end. It definitely made for different swimming--they could tell a difference particularly as they transitioned from shallow to deep or vice versa. The girls both did great. Megan improved most of her times, some by as much as 30 seconds!!!
Times:
Sarah (50 yard):
Freestyle: 39.3 sec
Backstroke: 45.6 sec
Breaststroke: 56.65 sec
Butterfly: 48.09 sec
Megan (25 yard):
Freestyle: 48.6 sec
Backstroke: 48.1 sec
Breaststroke: 1 min 15.56 sec
Butterfly: 1 min 20.22 sec
Cute Megan!!!
Diving in for her first race.
Megan swimming freestyle. She had improved so much from the past week!
Sarah diving in.
Sarah backstroke.
Megan breaststroke.
Sarah breaststroke. I love this picture--you can see the concentration and determination on her face.
Megan doing butterfly. This is a bit of a challenging stroke and Megan is doing great. I'm posting a couple pictures so you can see the wiggles her body is doing as she does butterfly.
Another part of butterfly. You can really see how her hips/bottom move to propel her body forward.
Almost done! Go Megan!
Sarah butterfly. I love watching her swim butterfly--she's really good and does fly across the water!
Another picture of Sarah's butterfly.
Megan and Sarah with their ribbons. And Matthew joining in the fun.
Way to go, Sarah and Megan! Daily practice does result in improvements!
