Grandma and Grandpa O Visit

Grandma and Grandpa O came to visit. It was super exciting for the kids and they liked tracking their plane as it flew here. I had an interesting conversation with Megan about them coming:

Megan: Are we going to pick up Grandma and Grandpa at the airport?
Me: No. They are going to rent a car at the airport.
Megan: Are they sitting down now?
Me: They are probably on their way to the airport, so yes, they're sitting down.
Megan: Are we going to pick them up at the airport? (asked a lot of times)
Me: No, They are going to rent a car at the airport. They are driving from their home to the SLC airport and they will fly to Phoenix. Then they will drive to our house.
Megan: Are they renting a flying car?

She sure had a lot of questions about how they were getting here and I think I spent the better part of the morning answering them, over and over again. I really liked the "flying car" idea.

Once Grandma and Grandpa arrived at our home, the kids wanted to be with them all the time they could. We enjoyed going to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner Friday evening, visiting the Firehouse Museum on Saturday, swimming at the hotel's pool and going to Kokomo's for dessert after dinner.  On Sunday, they came to church with us. All three kids had parts in Primary that day (Sarah and Megan had talks and Matthew had a scripture) so we saw them do their parts (or in Matthew's case, smile really big). The kids also liked being able to eat breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa's hotel (Sarah went by herself on Saturday morning and I took the younger two Monday morning). On Monday, Megan and Matthew enjoyed exploring in Grandma and Grandpa's hotel room.

Sarah put together this meal for them in the play house.

Dad swimming with his kids.
The little basketball floaty thing is the only thing that got Matthew to go into the pool. Most of the time he hung out with me by the hot tub. Megan and Sarah, on the other hand, had to be cold and shivering before they'd get out of the pool and into the hot tub.

Warming up in the hot tub.

See, Grandma was there.

So was Grandpa.

Yummy yogurt!

Proof that one trike is all we need!

Grandma reading to Megan and Matthew. It was quite a long book and she read it all.

Sarah loves talking to Grandpa.

Megan and Matthew also played in the closet at the hotel.

We sure enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa visit! Love you guys!!!
