On Saturday, we went up to Flagstaff to see Megan's birth grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Martin. It's the first time we've seen them since Megan was born. It was really nice to catch up with them. We were also able to meet Liz's brother Ben and his girlfriend Abby. The kids enjoyed playing with their toys, running around the yard, watching the chickens and riding the tractor.
Ben driving Abby and the kids around on the tractor. He was a good sport about it and Abby was great at watching the kids. As for the kids, well, they really enjoyed the experience and would like to do it some more.
Megan and Matthew hoping for another ride.
Sarah driving the tractor. You can tell by her face how she felt about it!
Her logic as to why she should be able to drive it? It was just like Autopia at Disneyland. (Except for no track. And she could go a lot faster. Small details, right?)
Matthew wanted to drive the tractor too. Unfortunately, the Autopia argument didn't work for him so he had to settle for sitting in the seat and pretending to drive.
Megan also wanted a turn. We took a few pictures of her but didn't get her looking at the camera in any--she was too busy trying to figure out how the tractor worked!
Megan and the pink flamingo chasing Grandpa.
Attack of the toddlers!
Everyone is looking AND smiling. Impressive!
We enjoyed our visit a lot! We sure are thankful that we were able to see them again.
As a side note, Sarah informed us the next day that Grandpa Martin was her favorite person in the world. Her reasons: 1) He let her eat all the candy she wanted. 2) He let her have chocolate milk. 3) He let her drive the tractor.

Glad you were able to go see them. It looks like everyone had a good time!
ReplyDeleteNow I know the way to Sarah's heart. Since I don't own a tractor I will have to let her drive my car.
