Sarah and Grandpa A had a lot of fun writing stories together while grandma and grandpa were here visiting. They even designed a super secret box to store it in with secret codes to get into it. Don't worry, though--if you wanted to see the stories they were more than happy to share. Also, the codes were written on the box.

"The Little Kitten Who Got Lost"

Once there was a kitten and it was very cute. Her parents would let her see what was in the house. One day the little kitten was exploring the house and she saw a door. The door was not a closet. It was a door to go outside. She opened the door and crawled outside. She did not know she was going to be lost. She went out and explored. Sometimes while she was exploring she made nice animal friends. One time she got caught and her animal friends were there to help her. When she was travelling, she found a house. The house had a whole family in it meaning cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, brothers, sisters, mom and a dad. She went to the house and knocked on the door and one of the cousins opened the door. The cousin said, "Mommy? Mommy! Looks it's a baby!" The mom came and stared. She picked up the baby and said, "It must be lost." So they took care of the baby and fed her, gave her water and put her to bed. When she cried, the mother was thinking she must give the baby back to her mother and father. Then she went to go help the baby. She got the baby out of the bed and put her in a baby carrier. She looked all night for where the baby's home was. Meanwhile, the baby's mother and father were looking for the baby. Finally they found where the baby was. The mother and father paid them 2,000 dollars. Now you have heard the story of the little kitten who got lost.

"Silencing a Royal Danger"

Once upon a time there was a little girl who wanted to go on an adventure. She thought and thought about where she could go and what she could do. Then it occurred to her that adventures are much more fun with a companion. So she called her grandpa on the phone and told him of her plan.

Early the next morning, Sarah (the name of this girl) and her grandpa (who will go nameless to protect his innocence) got out of bed early in the morning and met up at the start of a mountain trail. 

They began hiking in all their gear. The way was long and steep. After climbing for a very long time, Sarah stopped for a swig of water.

Suddenly, something moved in the bushes. Sarah and her grandfather froze. Slowly, they turned in the direction of the sound. Out jumped a black gopher, wearing a royal crown and purple robe.

Grandpa shrieked and jumped into Sarah's arms. Sarah gave grandpa a big, reassuring hug and put him on a rock. She then faced the gopher and assumed her "karate kid" stance.

The gopher raced towards her, but Sarah stepped out of the way and the gopher ran right into grandpa, who gave a shriek and leaped to a nearby tree.

Sarah turned and faced the gopher again. She stared it in the eyes and motioned it forward. The gopher chattered boldly, backed up a step and charged the brave, determined girl.

It was one move too many for the gopher. Sarah poked it in the eyes, spun a full circle and karate chopped it on the back of the head. She grabbed it by the tail, flung it around and around and let it sail far into the distance.

That gopher was never heard from again.

When Sarah finally coaxed her grandfather down from his perch in the tree, they embraced. Grandpa thanked Sarah. They sat in the sun on a rock, ate a good lunch of bagels and carrots, laughing about their great adventure.

And then they headed for home, content with their day's accomplishment.
