Readership Cruise: In Port at Cabo

 A group of 12 of us from the Readership group went to a glass factory in Cabo. We saw them make a glass turtle, complete with a sombrero and drinking tequila. Some of us got to blow some glass which was cool.

We ran across Rachel from our dinner group and headed to Cannery Beach with her. We discovered that she and Susan, the friend she came on the cruise with, know Jacob and Kemily, some of Me and U's friends/roommates from college as Rachel and Susan were at grad school with them. Cue it's a small world...

We saw this sea lion on our way back to the boat.

The boat looked pretty as we headed back.

CL and Me at dinner at the Solarium Bistro. The watermelon salad and the shrimp ceviche were good. So was the baklava and crème brûlée. Most of the meat was dry. After dinner, we enjoyed a little time in the hot tub in the solarium. It had a nice view of Cabo with all its lights.

We got up early the next morning to eat breakfast before heading out to our excursion in Cabo. We got on a tender boat and waited for quite awhile (~20 minutes) and still were not leaving. In the meantime, we saw multiple little tender boats come and go. I finally went to ask when we would be leaving. They did not give a definitive answer. Then I said we were going on an excursion and had seen multiple small tender boats leave and so they said we were leaving right away. And we did. They took us the long way around the boat and went close to the arch. I wonder if it was to compensate for the long wait. We definitely had nice views.

We had a nice walk, first through some desert scenery and then along the beach. We saw big waves and some whales. There was some real excitement when one horse sat down and his rider got off. The horse then took off! Thankfully they were reunited quickly.

We saw some Cardón cactus which look similar to the saguaro. However, they branch lower and have fewer spines and a greyer color.

We went to a beach club on Medano beach where we enjoyed a soda and a walk along the beach.

We saw a sea lion swimming in the water as we headed back to the boat.
