U&Me Trip

 Grandma and Grandpa A came to watch the kids for a few days so that U and Me could get away. We headed south and stopped by the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson which is a really cute, nice zoo.

There were several types of poison dart frogs including this Golden Poison Dart Frog.

The African elephants were so cool! In this yard is a mom with two daughters, one that is about 18 months and one that is 7 years old.

The baby enjoyed making mud by transferring water from the stream to the dirt.

Feeding time! That was fun to watch.

At the Texas Canyon rest area on our way to Willcox.

We had a yummy dinner at the Steakhouse across the street from our hotel.

We both had the turkey and cranberry sandwich with sweet potato fries. We also had homemade key lime cheesecake. It was delicious!

The following day, we went to Chiricahua National Monument where we spent the day hiking and taking in the views.

Tuesday morning, we headed back towards Phoenix. We stopped at Biosphere 2 on the way.

There was a mama deer with two babies in the parking lot.

We went to the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit in Scottsdale. It was neat. It was a 35 minute film based on Van Gogh's work that played continually on the walls in two different rooms. In the first room we went in, there was a reflective floor. In the second room, there were projections on the floor.

We enjoyed watching.

View from above of the second room. We ended up watching the show three times: once in the first room, once in the second and once on the mezzanine looking into the second room. The last gave us a nice view of the projections.

We had a yummy dinner at Montauk.

Then we wandered around the waterfront in Scottsdale.

The next day, we went to the Heard Museum.

We went out to dinner and a movie in the evening. Then we purchased some Dippin' Dots. Neither of us had ever had them and we wanted to give them a try. They tasted a lot like ice cream and sherbet.
