Spring Break: At Grandma and Grandpa A's

We headed up to Cedar City to visit with Grandma and Grandpa A. The ride up was a bit slow as it was pouring rain in the Phoenix area. I was thankful that the rain was lighter once we got out of Wickenburg. It was an interesting time to be gone as many changes were announced while we were there: home church services, online school for the kids, social distancing recommendations, temple closures except for live ordinances, etc.

Despite the stress, we did enjoy our time in Utah. It snowed multiple times which is something the kids look forward to. We enjoyed taking walks, putting together puzzles, watching movies and playing games. We even included U remotely in some of these activities: he played Guesstures with us and helped us figure out where some puzzle pieces went. Grandpa, Megan and Matthew had a lot of fun playing and wrestling both outside and inside. And there were many games of Foosball and ping pong

Grandma had some ostrich hand puppets with which we enjoyed playing. They could walk, play the drums, climb up chairs, dance and more.

It snowed. Multiple times, in fact. The younger two kids loved spending time outside in the snow. Grandpa played and wrestled with them.

Love the sign with all the snow!

We put together quite a few puzzles over the course of our visit.

Matthew with the elephant he created with puzzle blocks.

Once the snow melted, Matthew and Megan played chase and hide-and-seek with grandpa.

Grandpa O stopped by for a visit. We were really glad to see him since we weren't able to make it up to Provo.

The leprechaun found us on St. Patrick's Day. There was a glow wand for each kid, a scarf for the girls and a tie for Matthew.

There were a lot of Werther's in the hat.

With our traditional St. Patrick's Day meal of corned beef and cabbage and Irish soda bread.

Our dessert. It's jello with pineapple, cottage cheese and marshmallows. Yum!

Matthew and Megan took over bed making duties. They did a really good job!
I like how they laid out the rice bags, blankets and clothes very neatly on the bed.

More snow!

Playing fox and geese.

We played a lot of Foosball. Here it is Me and Grandma vs Grandpa and Sarah. We were soundly defeated.

Grandpa taught Megan and Matthew how to play hopscotch. They loved it!

  1. We are so glad you came to see us! We had lots of fun inspite of all the changes going on around us.
