Science Center and The Cosmic Playground

We went to the Science Center to spend a fun filled day.  It was snow week so the hill outside was covered in snow.  We got there early so the kids were almost the first ones on the snow.

The snowy hill almost makes you forget you are in Arizona.

Throwing a snowball at the cameraman.
Besides the snow, the main purpose of our visit was to go to the Cosmic Playground which they constructed out of packing tape and scaffolding.  Since we were there for the early member time we had the whole place almost to ourselves.

Megan and Sarah out for a moon walk.

Matthew and U want to come too!

Me and Megan in a tape tunnel.

Me relaxing in the ball pool that we had almost entirely to ourselves.  When we went back later in the day it was busier and they had a staff member manning it.  The kids were disappointed because there were rules that they had to follow.  The morning time was the best.

Sarah floating in the balls.

Oh no! Matthew is drowning!

Megan, Sarah, Matthew and U.

Sarah preparing to dive.

Static electricity is fun with long hair.

Matthew making waves.

Megan and Sarah sank beneath the waves and all we could see were their clasped hands.

Matthew and Me bounding across the surface of Mars.

Brave Martian explorers.

Matthew crossing through the time vortex.

Everyone liked sliding down the slide.  It is amazing what packing tape can make.

Matthew and U hanging out in the space lounge.  You can get a good picture of how they made the structure.

Looking into a black hole.

Sarah practices her meditation and balance skills.

Megan too!

Matthew loved having sole access to all these building blocks.  He decided to build a castle.  Notice the bridge crossing the moat in front.

This was the throne room.  You could slide into it from the next room over which was the...

Jail!  He put up bars on the sides but had to have the escape slide to the throne room.  Yes, the main entrance to the castle goes straight into the jail.

This is the weapons room of the castle and you can see various weapons waiting to be used in case of a prisoner uprising.

U tried out a virtual reality Spiderman game and thought it was pretty neat.  Everyone else got to watch what he was seeing on the screen.
