Field Day

Sarah had field day at school last week. She was able to wear a special class t-shirt. Pretty neat considering they normally have to wear uniforms.

Field day here is different than what we had growing up. For starters, it involves lots of water. Slip and slides. Big bouncy slides with water running down them. Water balloon toss. Squirt bottles that you squirted at people. Duck, duck, goose with water splashes if you were the goose. Sponge race (over under over under with the sponge  and people changing positions from back to front until everyone had the sponge twice).  There were some traditional activities like a sack race and tug of war. She was part of the team that won the ball race twice (you have a ball on a short lacrosse stick that you run back and forth between team members). Sounds like a fun afternoon!
